Chrome extensions run on desktop browsers, but job searches do not stop when users close their laptops. Recruiter replies, interview invitations, and application updates often arrive while people are commuting or away from their desks.

Claim My Job’s mobile companion roadmap explores how to provide visibility and lightweight actions on a phone without pretending that every desktop automation step can move to mobile.

📱 The mobile companion is a roadmap item. It is not currently presented as an available native app.

Why mobile matters

A desktop extension is well suited to interacting with application forms. A mobile companion would solve a different problem: keeping users informed and prepared.

Useful mobile scenarios include:

  • Checking recent applications
  • Receiving notifications about strong new matches
  • Reviewing outreach replies
  • Approving a tailored resume before submission
  • Updating an application’s status
  • Reading interview-preparation notes

These are quick decisions that should not require opening a laptop.

Phase one: a progressive web app

A progressive web app, or PWA, can provide an app-like experience through the browser. It can be installed on a home screen and support responsive navigation, cached screens, and push notifications where the device permits them.

Because Claim My Job already has a web dashboard, a PWA could be a practical first step. The focus would be mobile-friendly tracking and notifications—not recreating the entire extension.

Phase two: a dedicated companion

A future native companion could add deeper notification controls and smoother interactions. Potential capabilities include:

  • Application status alerts
  • New-match digests
  • Quick approval or rejection of suggested actions
  • Outreach-reply notifications
  • Interview session summaries
  • Preference updates

The desktop would continue to handle complex form automation. The phone would become the control and awareness layer.

What the mobile app should not do

A good companion should avoid encouraging impulsive bulk applications from a small screen. Users still need enough context to assess a company and role. Sensitive profile changes and unfamiliar screening questions may deserve a larger review surface.

Notifications should also be configurable. A tool meant to reduce job-search stress should not create constant alerts.

Connecting mobile and desktop

The central requirement is synchronization. An application submitted on desktop should appear on mobile. A status changed on mobile should update the dashboard. Preferences should remain consistent across devices.

A companion, not a replacement

The strongest mobile experience will complement desktop automation rather than imitate it. It should help users stay informed, respond at the right moment, and return to focused work when needed.
